Default 98 maxima suspension woes

I am new to this forum. I'm trying to figure out what is going on with the suspension on this 98 maxima gxe. i know that this car is not known for its stiff ride, but nethertheless, every time i go over a bump, the *** end of the car compresses, and the releases in an almost diagonal fashion. i'm hoping that i'm looking at getting some new struts or something like that, and that it's not a bent frame or something. does anybody know of some good products on the market to recommend?

thanks!

have you had the current suspension inspected for faults?

no, i haven't, so maybe that's the best thing to do. i have a feeling that it might have something to do with the shocks, since there's quite a bit of bounce there.

when shocks and struts go bad they will leak, and the base, over time, will appear to be covered with a layer of mud. i would have them checked by a shop though, because bad suspension parts can cause damage to other things, like increased uneven tire wear..so on
