Default air intake issue

i installed an air intake 2 weeks ago - about 2-3 days later the service light came on - when i let off of the gas a stops the idle goes down to 400-500 rpm instead of the 800 it was before. any ideas?? runs a lot better though

i had a similar issue...make sure that you have a snug fit, and that no air is "slipping in" anywhere along the intake. i had a point where the intake was allowing unmetered air to enter, and it was causing the SAME problem.

did you make sure you plug in the maf sensor back, or i hope you didnt drop your maf sensor??? sometimes the ecu doesnt learn right away with more air going in....so i guess if the check engine light does not goes away, try resetting ecu......good luck
