Hey guys
I have a 1989 Nissan Maxima and lately like everyday the idle surges only in park or neutral...Its a automatic.
The idle isnt really bothering me the main problem is the car falling dead. My dad gave me a tune up...Plugs,Wires,Distributor,Air Filter, no help i bought a brand new fuel pump that didnt help either... The problem is while im driving ill hit the gas and get no response then the car falls dead and stays dead for awhile where it wont start back up for like 3 mins. Can you guys help me because i need this car for school thanks

 

Replace and/or swap Engine Cont -relay, clean its and ECU contacts. Check through all pages, see link below
