Default kyp shocks

I bought kyb shocks off the net and after checking the web site it mentions a rear mounting kit. Is the kit needed to mount the rear shocks.
Thanks.

No details = general answer:

- I have used KYB or whatever, no kits needed. Some sets do contain new top nut, nice but not necessary if uninstall doesnt destroy the original
- What does that 'kit' contain?
- If dust covers are torn, its wise to get undamaged covers
- When I used Stanza/Bluebird rear shocks, I needed one shim
- do not forget to add the cooling liquid, oil
