Nissan Maxima 98 GLE - Not Starting
Hello all
I recently bought a Nissan Maxima GLE 98 model and off late it i faced the first problem where the radiator was getting heated up. There were coolant leakages which has been fixed now. But the day afteri took it out of the mechanic, the engine wont start. Nothing happens when the key has been turned to START position. None of lights show up as well.
We tried Jump Starting the same using another car, but only the lights keep flashing and the horn sounds intermittently as if its an alarm. But the engine does not start whatsoever.
The SERVICE ENGINE light has always been on.
Can you tell me what could be the possible issue? I use a duplicate key and the mechanic once said the key has a problem and its not touching the ignition correctly. Could this be the reason?

RE: Nissan Maxima 98 GLE - Not Starting
Thanks for the reply.
It turned out to be a battery issue. the mechanic placed a new battery, but unfortunately looks like he gave the wrong circuit connection. Even when i switch off the vehicle, the brake lights were switched on. hence the battery drained. I have called him to investigate more.
Lets see.
