Default Rev problem

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with a 2000 Nissan Maxima. It will only rev to about 5300 RPM then it's like it runs out of juice, any idea what this could be?

Maybe if it runs out of juice, juice delivery isnt adequate? If so, check juice system pressure... (replace ? fuel -filter, -regulator, -pump, check/clean blocked hoses, injectors)

Air filter has been changed when? Pedal linkage; Throttle opens fully? Plugs, coilpacks need replacement?

I'm planning on checking the trottle under the hood tomorrow just to confirm and if I do confirm it's fuel delivery then I'll change filter and regulator. Don't really have time for much more than that this weekend..Thanks for the advice though.

No, this happens in both Neutral and when you're driving. Like if you wanna pass someone it's virtually impossible because it won't rev past that point. And I tried reving it in Neutral with the same results. Thanks for the inquiry..let me know if you have any ideas...Thanks

well check your fuel psi at 5300 rpm and see if it drops and then go from there

Default RE: 2001 Maxima No RPM, service lights problem

Please help me Reiska or anyone w/ knowledge on how to repair:

I hope this is you. I have read a lot of your post and you seem extremely knowledgeable. I am new to this and it is my 1st post.

I own a 2001 Maxima SE and am having problems with RMP's not registering, engine, TCS, and slip lights are on after installing a MAF and TPS sensor. Everything worked fine prior to the install 7 had no lights; now I don't know what could be wrong.

Car was initially cutting off while driving if foot taken off accelerator. Now, it drives fine but will cut off if starting uphill unless I give it plenty gas for a while. Dealership stated a cut or pinched wire to the computer, but I don't think so. They would not reset the computer because they stated it will do no good.

MAF was put on 1st and RMP's worked and only 1 light on. When TPS put on, other lights and RPM problems began. So sound like a problem w/ TPS and computer not being reset.

Is this a problem w/ throddle being opened or closed or is something else going on? Car feels like it wants to die at start up but just happy it is running again.

This car has been nothing but problems for me. I have learned more about diagnosing repairs properly from this site than the dealers seem to know, unless it is just another way for them to rip me off. Close to $10,000 grand spend on repairs and maintenance.
