Default Ticking

Hi, I'm new to the maximas.

I'm in the market for a used car, and today I found a 97 nissan maxima GLE w/ 73xxx miles. I got in the car, started it, engine runs smooth, but there seems to be a ticking sound near the front passenger foot well towards the front wheel. anybody know waht this might be? i'm hoping its nothing big cuz i plan to buy this car. its really nice. please help thank you.

One reason I've heard: climate ctrl valve motor 'seeking' (gears screwed off)... '20$' from junkyard, possibly 500$ from Nissan (? go and ask)

ok.. I went back to the dealer to look at the car again, and this time there was no ticking, but there was a hisss sound after i started the car. it came from the same location.. somewhere on the front right, i think the vent?
some more questions..

-i noticed the right side speakers dont work.. is there something on the radio to adjust the sound balance left and right?

-since this is the GLE and has the BOSE system, how many speakers should there be and where should they be located?

-what other things should I look for/at before signing the paper to take the car home?
what should i get with the car after i buy it?

thanks for you help. really appreciate it

The valve motor is dying. Ask how much it costs to replace, demand price down that much or write the issue down and negotiate detailly what happens the day its dead.... still expect a fight for your rights when this happens

Follow favorite links, see below to your bose schematics /specs...

Contact local consumer hlp to get paperwork right. Somehow ensure mileage. Let also smbdy else check the car for you.

Valve/flap adj motor, the [most probable] source of your 'ticking' - it is where the sound... there. Automatic climate ctrl uses it to keep/ctrl/adj the temp setting to the point driver wants it - air temp is always fluctuating...
