recently took my pathfinder in due to hesitaion and rpm fluctuations while driving. diagnostic computer said distributor was bad. we installed a used distributor ourselves. everything working fine, except check engine light is now on. could changing the distributor have triggered the check enging light? if so, how can i turn it off? thanks

 

car is ok. took it to autzone and they hooked it up to the computer. it said it was a problem with timing belt, and a couple of other things. the light went on when we were adjusting the distributor
