Default 2005 Pathfinder Psiton Slap

You can read the history leadng up to this post under "2005 Pathy injector problem"

My dealer confirmed piston slap after taking the head off and checking the bores. All though I'm pissed off that my new Pathy has this problem, I'm pleased with the no-quibble approach to fixing the problem. We await an new engine. Just hope it doesn't take too long. [&o]

Firstly, it's not a V6, mine's a 4 cylinder 2.5 litre diesel and has done only 10,000 miles. Next, I don't know if your noise is the same as mine, mine was on light loads (throttle setings, in all gears, worst when cold but still present when warmed up.

Anyway, it turned out that I have one undersize piston. Worse, it's damaged the bore so Nissan have authorised a new short motor under warranty. I await it's arrival.......

Dealer is still being superb though.

Well, I finally got my Pathy back, and I have to say the new engine is superb. The old one never drove like this even when it was new. I'm a very happy owner!!!

Well, I lost faith in the 05 Pathy, but my dealer came through for me and I now have a brand new 06 model, and the last one was never as good as this one. It was a Friday afternoon build if ever there was one...

A garbage truck reversed into it!!!!

And I had my new one 3 days when a kid on a bicycle scratched the passenger door, gonna cost me £200 to have it fixed. I'm just not meant to own one methinks
