My wife has an '05 Pathfinder LE (w/ Bose, no navigation). The rear fan speed control **** located in the front center dash fell off about a week ago. My local dealership informed me that I'm unable to order the broken part (a small plastic post) and instead need to order the whole control assembly at a cost of $475!

I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs and to-date have been unable to resolve this. I have 60k miles and am therefore out of warranty coverage.

If you have had a simliar problem or know where I can locate a replacement part (junk yard, etc.), please advise.

I've attached a picture that shows the broken part (the item to the far right in the photo).

The part you require is only going to come as the whole assembly as they stated.... if you are interested in purchasing the whole assembly I can get it for you at half the price you were quoted.
