Default Low Oil Warning

Hi folks, my 2005 UK model Pathy has done 4300 miles and has started flashing the low oil warning occasionally when starting when the engine is hot and has been parked for 15 mins or so. The oil level is ok so it seems like a faulty sensor. Also, it has a knock like excessive valve clearance when cold that quietens down, but doesn't go completely, when it warms up. Dealer thinks it may be a noisey injector. It goes to the dealer today so I'll let you know what occurs.

It's a diesel by the way....

Well, the diagnostics said I need a new oil level sensor, so we're waiting for it to arrive. As far as the knock's concerned, the dealer said it was an injector and recalibrated them all. Now the knock is worse, and my fuel consumption has increased.[:@] Will my Pathy ever be as quiet as it was when new again...[&o]

Latest update. Had the sensor changed. Dealer says the fault is still there but I haven't seen it yet. He's talking to Nissan UK tomorrow. Found out the 2.5 174bhp diesel is a (relatively) new engine - it's a bored-out version of the one in the X-Trail, so Nissan want to know about all faults no matter how minor. Also, the Dealer has had one or two Pathys in with failed injectors, so mine is gonna have a good lookin over sometime soon. I'll keep updatng this thread, it might be of use to someone sometime....
