I have a base S, AWD model. The key looks pretty standard (with the door lock buttons integrated into the car key itself). I am looking to see if I can get another key made just by having a copy cut. Need to know if there is a security chip installed in the Rogue key handle or if a simple copy will suffice. This is NOT the higher end smart key that does not need to be inserted into the starter.

 

Yes it does have chipped key.... you would need to get a copy made and programmed at your local dealership.

 

I purchase a new key fob at my local dealership and key and programmed cost $365.
