DEAR SENTRA FOLKS,

i just bought a new 07 SENTRA AND NOW WANT TO TRY TO ADD KEYLESS ENTRY TO THE POWER DOOR LOCKS
THAT THE CAR CAME WITH. I TOOK A TEST IN THE CAR TO SEE IF THE KEYLESS ENTRY SYS IS THERE AND IT CHECKED OUT
AOK. IS ALL I NEED IS THE 07 REMOTES AND PROGRAMMING? PLEASE LET ME KNOW. AND WHERE IS A GOOD PLACE TO GET
SOME MATCHING POWDER WHITE BODY SIDE MOLDING.

Well... first if your car has a keyless entry module and power door locks you should have gotten the remotes when you bought the car.....second...what test did you do ?

 

Car is a base Sentra . It didnt come with the remotes. The test I took is a Nissan test ,

Um... ok, you took a Nissan test inside of your 07 Sentra....Was it an algebra test ?.... lol ... I'm wondering what you did to test that the keyless entry system was there.

 

Dear Burnout,
The test was putting the ignition key in and out in the ignition switch -lock cylinder about 7 times within 10 seconds. If the directional turn signals
flashes twice the car has the RKE system. Thats Remote Keyless Entry for all . I took High School auto mechanics
3 years and was a teachers aide. I now have remote entry after buying the remote at a Nissan dealer today. Only
problem is the trunk doesnt unlock with the remote. I guess since the car didnt come with the remotes from the factory , on my
base model Sentra they left out the special trunk lock cylinder and actuator even though I do have the power door locks and windows stock. Any thing to add?
