Default 2000 Nissan Sentra XE 1.8L randomly looses power

My elderly mother has a 2000 Nissan XE 1.8L Automatic and in the past 6 months it has started giving her issues while driving. You can be driving down the road just fine and then it will randomly fall on its face and barely pull itself. She has taken it to two shops and had the MAF sensor replaced three times in the last six months and it is still having the same symptoms. I'm finding it hard to believe that the issue can actually be the MAF sensor. I have read that the MAP sensor will present the same symptoms but I am unsure where the MAP sensor is located to swap it out. Anybody know where it is located? Also, while looking under the hood I noticed a small, round object attached to a bracket on the left side of the firewall that had some rubber kinda bubbled like it had been too hot. Unsure of what it is, I got the part number off of it (SPDB28-114A 0121) and looked it up. Found it to be a Swirl Control Sensor. Could this be causing the issue? Hoping there are some Nissan experts out there that can provide some guidance. TIA !!!
