Lol... this is funny ... I own a SRT-4 and a Sentra...... wondering what is plastic under the hood other than the stock intake box and the cover that says srt4 ?
The statement i made was just to make a mockery of Dodge

I agree with both of you guys. First off, to make a Spec-v a turbo, you would have to replace the internals to do it right and have something that would last. You are talking about shelling out 5 grand for just the turbo and have you seen the prices of those internals? Insane! You could probably get a STI by the time it is all said and done and have the traction (AWD) to support 300 HP. I just used a SRT-4 as an example (about the same price range). Think of what you could do if you put that same amount of money into the SRT-4. My opinion is just that it's too much BS to make a non-turbo a turbo. Start with a better platform if you want to be super fast (and reliable!). Yeah, I think that Nissans are pretty big POSs. I can say that because I bought mine new in 2002 and have had problems with mine (oil burning, BAD ECU!, butterfly screws coming off and bending the tips of spark plugs, pre-cat going bad, etc.,etc.). I will still probably keep it for a little while longer because it's paid for now. Have you had your SRT-4 long? How many miles have you put on it? I'm just kind of curious because I might get something else in the near future. I haven't heard many good things about the newer Dodges though either (mostly wiring problems).

I have about 14k miles on mine.... only problem I had was a bad boost gauge. Got a new one the same day it broke under warranty. Srt-4's are very realiable for what they are, you just need to keep up with the maintenance. As far as making a non turbo a turbo.... the only nissan motor that's easy to turbo ( realiably) really is an SR20 motor.... it's made for it.

Another possible option for Spec-V motors might be to drop the new 2007 2.5L (200 HP) into ours (it will probably be a while before you can find one though). I think that they got most of their power by putting higher compression pistons in the motor (10.5 to 1 or something). I wouldn't be surprised if those pistons dropped right into our motors (I seriously doubt that Nissan did much else to beef up the motor - stronger connecting rods or crank, etc,etc.).

yes that is infact true it might be a pain though. with the room it takes up, you might be better off keeping your vq25de and just hook it up.if you really want to though the 350z, g35, and 06 maxima all have the same engine, so you could try and find one totaled and get the engine.
