My speedometer went out and afew minutes late my check engine light went on. someone told me that the speedometer is a speed sesing type)?) and that might cause the engine light to come on. any ideas?

the 89 sentras use a speedo cable. my sentra dont even have a check engine light just a Malfunction indicator light. my speedo cable went **** on me a while back i got a new one from nissan for $50 and has a one year warrentee....good luck hope i helpd
