I am in need of a picture or parts illustration of the shift cable connection on the automatic transmission of a 95-98 Sentra or 200sx with the 1.6 liter engine.
Can anyone tell me where I can view one or if you can email me a photo of yours it will be appreciated.

I need a picture of the cable to the transmission connection. I took it apart months ago and am having troulble finding the correct pieces. The cable end's hole is to small for the bolt on the transnission shift arm so I think there is a part that goes between the two but I don't remember what it looks like etc. Nissan Parts at the dealership printed parts diagrams but none or theirs show the acctual connection and it's pieces.

Thanks,
Pete

Nevermind. Can not say enough about getting light on the subject while working under a car. That is what I did and "It fits on the bolt" but I had to remove the steel insert from the rubber gromet at the end of the cable, position the steel insert on the bolt first and then slide the cable/rubber gromet on over the steel insert. The bolt has two flat sides and that was what was keeping the cable end from siding on it at just any angle. Another way would have been to leave the cable unbolted from the transmission mount and slide the cable end on the bolt while twisting a little to lineup with the bolt flats and then attached the cable to the transmission mount after.

Thanks for reading!
