Alright guys, here's the situation. Last August I bought my 02 SE-R Spec-V from a dude privately. The only problem is that it was originally purchased in Canada and the gauge cluster and odometer are in kilometers. It doesn't bother me at all cuz I can do the easy conversion quickly in my head but when I took it into a dealer to see trade-in value, he told me with that setup it drops the value about $2000 here in the states. Are you kidding me??

My question is, how easy is it to switch out the gauge cluster and redo the computer to have it read in miles instead of kilometers?? Anybody deal with anything like this? Can I just take a used cluster and cpu and swap them out? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

 

i never ran into this problem myself but i believe if you go and get a gauge cluster from anothor 02' spec v ser it should be plug and play but if it doesnt work im not 100% sure but i think you might have to swith the ecu to an U.S. cause the ecu you have reads in kilometers and celcius instead of mph and temp in Farenheight but if you really want to sale your car i would stay away from trade in and sale it in a private party ad.
