i have a 2000 sentra gxe with a QG18DE motor. its not performing very good and the tranny has a lot of miles. i want to do an engine swap and put the biggest possible engine i can into it. price is not an object. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

 

you can do the vq35de swap out of the maxima se my friend out in st louis has his with a 75 shot of nitrous and short ram intakeand he ran 12.8et in the 1/4 mile but hes 1 of 6 vq35de swapped B15 sentras that car is sick

 

Yeah the VQ swap is do able but Id suggest either an SR20VE or SR20DET (GTi-R). most of the VQ B15 swaps ive seen have had a lot of weight issues just cause of how much bigger a VQ motor is in comparison to the stock 1.8L

i just want the engine thats gonna be the most compatible but also going to give me as much power my sentra can handle without causing problems, thanks for both suggestions

 

Anytime, Id go with the GTiR SR, stock that motor is believe is about 220 whp

 

the gtir sr20 only puts out 205hp at the flywheel stock so you would see about 180whp give or take but you would deffinetly notice a difference in power good luck with your swap

 

the numbers youre giving are for a Bluebird SR, the GTi-R has a larger turbo (T28) than the Bluebird motor and is also tuned for more power

the GTi-R is a 250bhp rating, meaning approx 220 whp

 

sorry but your getting confused with the s15 sr20 that has 250hp the gtir sr20 only pushes 220hp at the flywheel but its an older engine and its harder to find parts then the bluebird sr20 wich in the end its not worth the extra 15 extra stock hp. so the gtir would put out about 200whp give or take.

 

GtiR is the sickest motor to stick in a sentra its so much torque and its extremly FAST!! i have one for sale right now if any body is intrested?
