gauge cluster help
hey guys, I'm looking for some way to actually finish my installation of an aftermarket gauge face and the speedometer needle has been sticky. I figured out why too, its the face rubbing on the underside of the dial/needle in the center...I'd like to know if the needles can be removed to just lay the face down flat and have everything work instead of bending the heck out of the gauge face. can anyone help?

RE: gauge cluster help
I had put the entire face on at one time but I wasn't able to keep the face perfectly flat...I was bending it quite a bit to get around the needles. but if I could remove the center pieces that have the needles in them and just put the new face flat onto the black & red face and replace them. the question I'd like to know is, do the values for the gauges reset to zero every time I start the car?

i dont think it will reset to zero, my friends 240sx had the indeglow gauges and they were all messed up, wouldnt go pass 35mph and never set to zero.
does yours have 2 screws that hold the face flat? what year of sentra is this?

RE: gauge cluster help
its the 2003 sentra...if I move these with my finger, they float down to the pin...and I could probably spin the needles around, assuming the pin was removed, and it still gives accurate info.
I'm just trying to make sure that I don't screw anything up if I remove the needle to apply double sided tape to the original face and the rear of the new one so its not rubbing against the dial.
you know?
