replacing hub assembly

replacing hub assembly
I would like to replace the hub assembly on my 97 Sentra GXE no ABS.
What size hub nut does it have? How much torque?
Also I'm trying to remove the darn dust cap that covers the nut.
Hit it with a flat screwdriver and a hammer but won't come off. Suggestions?

RE: replacing hub assembly
purp, the book shows useing a hammer and chisel to remove the cap, they are a bear cuase there is no grease in there to keep them from corrodeing.if you happen to poke a hole in the cap, just seal it up with some silicone when you put it back on.the torque shows between 135 and 188 lbs.as far as the size of the nut i dont remember, if you dont have any metric sockets that big i wouldnt worry, usually when a metric nut is as large as those you can find a sae socket that will fit tight enuf to work. is your rear hub bearing bad? last i knew those rear assemblys were about 80$. they are a large heavy duty sealed bearing set up and dont seem to go bad that often.let us know what yu find when you go in there.
