Transmission alignment and low clutch pedal
I have a 2004 Nissan Sentra SER Spec V, I bought the car from a friend who installed a new LUK clutch right before I got it due to a failed throw out bearing. He stated the car has gone through a lot of clutches and throw out bearings, and that it has a lightweight solid flywheel. I've put 3000 miles on the car and the clutch throw out bearing has failed, once removed the clutch was toast, and flywheel hot spotted. I replaced it with a stock LUK clutch, the same exact one he installed, unfortunately I didn't have time to have the flywheel machined. I also replaced the entire hydraulic system to solve a spongy pedal. As I was reinstalling the transmission I noticed there are no alignment pins which is most likely the reason the bearing went bad and killed the clutch. I had no choice but to just continue to put the car back together as I had to get it out of the shop before work started Monday, but I am not currently driving the car. The other problem is the clutch pedal doesn't come all the way back up, I spent about an hour bleeding it and had no air for the last 15 minutes. If I push on the slave cylinder I am able to get the pedal to return to full up, but when the pedal is pushed, it won't return up, it stops about 1.5 inches from top. It seems like the depth of something isn't right and not pushing the throw out bearing back all the way. So my 2 questions are, am I able to purchase engine to transmission alignment dowel pins, or am I stuck pulling them from another engine. And are there any known problems with cheaper flywheels and a stock unsprung clutch on pressure plate finger depth? Thank you to all who even look at this post.
