My nissan maxima 1999 GLE, front axles are gone. Service man recomented to replace those. I have no clue how come it needs replacement. They are quoting about $400/each for 2 wheels.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

I would go with aftermarket axles... the Nissan ones are ridiculous .....they are prob recommending replacement because your boots are torn.

 

Me neither... why? Possibly there is also real cau$e other than pumping revenue ... If axles are ok, only boots are changed. Whatever, ask second opinion wassup and whattodo, check this link and get some clue.:
