Just wondering if anyone has heard or used Stillens muffler for the 02' Maxima. It is $399 and all stainless steel, only 3 or 4 decibels louder than stock, and good for 8 hp at the front wheels. Want to keep it quiet for my wife and daughter, but wouldn't mind if it sounded like a 350Z or FX35, they have a noticible rumble when I have seen them.

 

if someone is advertising 8whp from a muffler...get it in writing before you buy it.

 

I have a 1999 SE, and I just got the Stillen Exhaust. There is a noticeable amount of droning during normal driving, but it's not that bad. If you are looking to not offend your wife and kids, the Stillen exhaust will work for you. During accelleration, 4k rpm and above, you will have the sound that you are looking for. I also have the stillen intake, so together, I have a Growl under the hood...and the exhaust that sounds like a 300z. As far as the 8hp gain...well...I won't believe it until I get it on the Dyno.
