03 Spec-V DVD player problem

I just bought a DVD player for my car, a Jensen VM-9511....I have never installed a DVD player in a car before, my wiring harness has a few cables that do not link up to anything, the ILLUMINATION and the DIMMER. I had left those 2 cables open and my dash lights do not come on anymore, what am I supposed to do with those 2 cables??? Do I connect those to something else??

1st are you using a harness? and what color wires are left?

Yes I am using a Harness, the 2 remaining colors are both Orange...the harness doesn't have anything to connect them to

At times there will be spare wires when going aftermarket like power ant. more them one remote wire, etc. Did you check fuses and do you have sound at all speakers?
