Hey, whats goin on I'm a new member I live in Marietta GA and i found a good lookin deal for a 73' 240Z with a swapped out 78' 280Z engine in it. This would be my first car so I was wondering if anyone knew what problem areas and/or any specific questions to ask. Thanks.

 

Well, I live in the state of Washington and so know nothing about the rules and regs of GA but the first thing that comes to mind is, what about SMOG. Being a 73 body you probably don't have to worry about it but I'm just thinkin' that if Uncle Sam knows it's got a 78 engine in it, he's gonna want it to have all the 78 SMOG stuff too. Cat converter, etc. Kind of a rule I think. So, does Uncle Sam know it's had an engine change and if so, will it pass SMOG.

Hopefully it's a moot question
