started that lost gears could only go 60km. when car shut off for 10 min would be fine. Now I've lost reverse and when put in drive will shift to first gear hard but no other gears. Could it be a plugged filter or do I have far more problems?

 

sounds like you have far more problems cause the damage is already done if your filter is clogged so a new filter would do much at all. i would start searching for a new/used tranny to put in it. good luck
