I have a 2001 nissan xterra with a 3.5 v6 my wife was driving it and it just quit. Thestarterrotates the engine but will not start sounds like it wants to but wont its at her work 65 mi from home I went down there I have a scanner I plugged it in andnothing will come up on it I installed a new battery in the scanner thinking it was that still nothingI have had it plugged in before and it worked fine but I don't know if i have a bad PCM ot if it has has a bad fuel pump or what just need some suggestions. First, its a 3.3. Second, what have you checked thus far ? If she was driving and it just quit... it's normally just an alternator....maybe a battery depending on how bad it was drained.
