Default new, help, advice...please/thanks

Hey everyone, just joined the forum...reason bein is that i'm thinking about purchasing a nissan 240sx...problem is that i only have 4-5g to spend on a car, so i need some advice on what should i look for in the car, like is it even worth the 4g....a friend of mine recomended to buy a 240 w/ the most possible miles on it for cheap, and do a sr20det swap on it for the left over money..i would like to know yall's opinion on what should i do...and if you don't recomend the 240, then which car you think would be the best in my situation.

Thanks

I recommend you look for a good mechanic and really have him go over whichever car you decide to purchase...
Have him really check out everything that can be checked out or you may be sorry you bought whichever one you pick out..

Hey....by the way [sm=welcomesign.gif] to the forums...

Yes do the swap totally worth its a great engine and you'll be pleased with the speed u can crank out of it but better yeat if looking to sup up a car, buy a 94 300zx they go up in value if you put the money in to it and when ever you go somewhere, i tell this is the truth everyone, will tell you what a nice car u have... not to mention any 300z i have ever driven(over 100) all of them have the greatest engines that putt along way past the 170 thousand mile marker but what ever you do not buy a 240zx for more 2400 dollar the just r not worth it. to many variables to go wrong at 100000 miles especially the trans and the head gasket due to it being an aluminium block! I speak from experince with the 300zx though i have 2. my first ,I searched online for it for like 7 1/2 monthst i flew to Florida from chicago took about 3 seconds dropped 5700 dollars on it and drove all the way back to chicago witout a hick-up(1117mi). and to this day have not spent a penny to mantain it and also would be surprized if it went another 150000 miles with out a problem belive me there r some bad ones but not many try and stay away from 90-92 and if you find N E with less than 100000 miles on it for less than 6000 dallars buy it you can turn around the next day and sell it for 8000 and they will go all day!!!!!!! as far the 240 any year will do just check the body and interior cabin the egine swap will take you a long way in finding a car if this is in mind already cause it don't matter whats wrong with it as long as it looks good but seriously to see them goin for 800 bucks is not an odd thing my friend just picked a 95 with 140000 he paid 850 dollars and swap the engine and it is madd clean looks good and would smoke my tt any day!!!
