Default 89 240 with a KA24DE

hello, just need some basic information for a prject i am considering. i am going to get a 1989 240. this car is a coupe. it has a single overhead cam motor and an automatic transmission. i am hoping you all can help me, i would like a list of parts and possibly prices of all the components needed to do this conversion. like the wiring harness, does it have to be modified much? mounts? Clutch peddal and shifter? ECU? basically what all is needed. i thank you for your help and time. looking forward to hearing from you all soon. thanks

ok since nobody can even give me a hint on what to do, i guess i will just fill you all in. the engine will fit no problem. and for all those of you who didnt read my first post i am going to be installing a 1995-1997 ka24de into a 1989 240 with a ka24e and an automatic transmission. so the engine fits fine needs no modification but i will either use cusco heavy duty engine mounts to reduce any engine vibration, or nismo mounts. and a peak performance tranny mount to further reduce vibrations at full throttle slides. i will also use the stock ka24de engine harness and ECU ( i havent totally figured out how much extra wiring i will need to do). but i will cross that bridge when i come to it. the automatic to five speed conversion will happen the same time i replace the motor. i will need the 5 speed center console, shifter and all components. then i will need the cluth pedal bracket and the pedal, clutch cable. i beleive the 5spd tranny is a cable tranny so i wont have to deal with fluid lines and all that crap. i am still searching more sites i will keep you all filled in when i can. peace.

Interchangeable...no...but close to interchangable.

The mechanical part is remove and replace...but you'll need DOHC power steering lines, and a custom A/C bracket if you want to retain your SOHC compressor.

For the wiring...remove the old SOHC harness...2plugs by the battery, one at the ECU, and a smaller plug near the ECU (11 wires).

The DOHC stuff plugs right up, except for the wires near the ECU.

DOHC harness has 8, the SOHC has 11. Match color-for-color for the 8, leave the other 3 alone.

Done and done.

You'll also need a DOHC tach to be swapped into your gauge cluster, if you want that to be accurate.

Easy stuff.
