if your really wanting 500, the rb is the best way to go.

shayan,

I would like to ask you what are you planning to do with your car? RB25DET and RB26DETT are heavy and they will reduce overall handling of the car. I guess they are good setup for drag racing, for Drifting I would go with the SR20DET. I've seen 550hp SR20DET.

like they said it depends on what you want to do with the car. the ka is a tried and proven motor. i know people with that kind of horsepower, but its not practical. if you really want those numbers you need a good turbo and nice nitrious setup. the nos is the easiest way to get horsepower, not to mention its free horspower, in the since that you dont lose gas milage on a regular bases and you can use it when you want. and it isnt tearing up your motor like a turbo does. just remember the more power the more problems and the shorter the life of the car and motor.

If you are looking to make 450.. to 500 rwhp.. First of all to make the car reliable for more then 10 days you are gonna need to re build the bottom end haha.. Prollllly billet rods forged pistons arp studs and cometic gaskets are a must... Ontop of that to get the numbers consistant your gonna need alot more then tons of boost... Your gonna need to port the head get some titanium valve springs and retainers and some super high lift camshafts... meaning you will prolly need after market valves as well.... The RB motor would be easiest to acheive this horsepower goal. and to go with the above mods... Choose the most efficient turbo you can get your hands on.. prolly a gt35r would be best if you go RB... I would do all the above to an rb20det if you can get your hands on one... with all that you can hit 450-500 horsepower.. and be....kinda...streetable...and you can rev it to about 8,500 rpm with the right engine management...if you have that kind of time and money... Keeeeep me posted haha.. We built my ca18det because we wanted to shy away from the sr20 crowd.. As well that aluminum block scared me a little bit so we went ca18...

On my motor we went billet rods, Forged pistons, arp studs, cometic gaskets, port and polish (whats called a stage 3) titanium valve springs and retainers, stainless steel extended tip length valves, stage 3 camshafts, 440cc injectors, gt28r turbo and i still only produce around 340 to the wheels... However it revs to 8,200 its good enough to drift the car and thats more then i need so.. If you need any tips i love helping the engine build stuff...

Contact - weisco canada for piston options (forged - oem replacement pistons light weight hollow wrist pins, rings, wrist pins)
- weisco can hook up the cometic gasket too they are a vendor of cometic.
- Titan motorsports - can hook up the arp studs
- Colt Cams Inc - can hook up the cam shafts
- S.I Valves - for valves (Talk to J.D)
- S.I Valve - for springs and retainers as well or tomai...
- For the porting you will have to find someone local.. Try and find a shop that can do a 5 angle valve seat cut on yoru head at the same time and take care of the milling and honing all in one machine shop if possible....

Anyway.. Theirs my 2 cents let me know if you need any help

Regards
Josh

Any upgrade above 75HP on a stock motor recommends build up of the motor, ground up that is. Whether setup is Turbo or NOS. RB25DET is kind of heavy for 240SX, people have tried already many times. It would be good for drag racing I guess... Just my opinion.
