have you tried to check both of those??? I think its the gasket, if you are going to present that to a mechanic you might get a clear answer.

so the engine got torn apart today, and the HG busted in 2 places, right by the timing chain and right behind cyclinder 3. so easy fix and the head was not warpped at all. driving with the heat on and driving as little as possible really helped out. since im doing a new HG , all top end gaskets are being changed along with both thermostats, Spark Plugs, Coil packs, Camshaft PS and Crankshaft PS. everything short of new fuel injectors....just going to clean them really well. once i get back to the states ill do a little more work to it and beef it up with better parts. this is a temp fix for 6 months until i have all my tools and resources at hand.
