Default Strange Starting Problems

I am new to the forum and my wife has a 2003 altima 2.5 and lately, and it happened to me today, the engine cranks normally, but dosen't turn over. If you wait a little while it starts. This is usually after it was driven and sitting somewhere. Sometimes my wife says it just clicks when she turns the key and once after she finally had it running it completely died. This car only has 44,000 miles on it, the battery and alt. just checked out fine. Anyone have any ideas?

Let me see if I understand you correctly, you're saying that the car spins over fine, just doesn't start, is this correct? If that's the case then the first two things to check is fuel pressure (weak fuel pump is common) and for stored codes (crank and cam sensors can cause this problem). Once the car does start how does it run? Does it run rough, miss, or does it run fine? If it misses then check to see if your coolant overflow bottle is empty, if it is then it's likely that you have a leaking head gasket.
