I had a rental 2009 altima and I couldnt believe that the top speed was only 110-115mph. it was ofcourse the 2.5 automatic. I have a 97 altima stick and it does 140mph and i know the automatics in the 97s are 110mph. do the new altima sticks have a higher top end then 110? thanks in advance for the info! was thinking about buying a new altima and was thinking of going with the automatic trans since stick can be annoying at times, but 110 top speed ...no way. how rerliable are those cvt trans? it was my first time driving a car with one and i dont really like it much. any input would be appreciated. thanks!

thanks for the reply, but i want to know is if the new altimas that are stick have a higher top speed than the automatics? theres got to be someone with a fairly new altima thats a stick shift out here someplace. ive searched youtube videos and see top speeds but nothing about the top end on a stickshift. im sure it seems pointless but im curious to know.

 

I have an 07 Altima and i've topped mine off at 120 just to keep it safe! I dont mess wit stick shifts so i wuldnt kno on that front

 

thanks bigmangham90 and others for the replys. i am interested in an 07 or newer now. ive did some research and alot of people complained about higher speed vibration which i felt in the altima i had as a rental. 80 mph or so. it was very noticable, from what i hear nissan cant seem to find the issue.
