Default 97 Maxima Err P0105 Map/Baro (MAF)??

Ok! Anyone with great technical experience on 97 Maximas? Heres the problem Err P0105 Map/Baro. The car would pass smog cause of that engine light that wont stay off after reset. I was told my MAF was bad after some tests were run in diagnostics. I replaced it with a new MAF, had the err reset, then BLAM 1 hour later, the light goes back on again... What is the problem....Irritating! Cause I cant get my tags until the smog test passes with the light off and the part fixed. But what part is it! Whats the problem? I even had a Nissan Specialist test it and say it was the MAF. So, somethings being overlooked, I would very much like to get some help with this.....Anyone experience the same? Could it be a wiring issue or something?

My smog passes great, but the err light is denying my pass once its been detected......HELP!

Who says your current MAF is ok?

All starts from verifying charge voltage. Then disconnect alt - to exclude alt created voltage spike problems. Next all groundings, connectors have to be cleaned throughly... see http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/10 & http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/14

P0105 Map/Baro -code is not for MAF, but for Absolute Pressure Sensor detectin intake pressure (=why change MAF?). Diagnostics for APS is detailed on page EC-110 ... find that via top left 'Favorite Links' on mentioned webpage. APS output varies from about 1.2V to 4.4V as pressure changes, check it out with multimeter from ECM terminal 61 (W).

If a lamp is the only problem, I'd pluck it out for the day... and search/correct the cause later.

First off, thanks for the info! I spoke with a nissan tech which says a common problem in that area is the heater core hose leaking on the ecu. Said that I need to check it for clogs/leaks and remove any condensation, then make sure ecu is dried with warm air. I would like to know if theres any DIY walkthru on that? I did remove the kick panel where the ecu is located and would like to do this myself. Shouldnt be hard, but I need a step by step.
I will also follow up on what you said too.

So, basically I have a MAF for sale $150 since theres nothing apparently wrong with my original.

Water zaps electronics: u wont drive with a fried ECU. Take care, this story will co$t honey... The 'problem' is 'common' - maybe your guy has even seen one? However, I cannot see 'any' connection with P0105, running water is seldom that clever, but ruins whatever it reaches. ECU is semi-enclosed and needs a flood of water to seep in; the connectors side is most open.

IF (?) The code is valid, my guess is faulty (dirt?) APS sensor and/or wiring.
