Default new '99 SE 5-speed

Hi all-
I am new to this forum, as I just purchased a '99 Maxima SE, 5 speed manual tranny. Wow, going from a 4 banger Camry to this is quite a jump! SWEET acceleration! Anyway, my question is when Im in 3rd gear, and its tached up around 4500+ RPM, the starts to
"buck"...I lose power, however it regains it temp, then repeats the cycle. When this happens the check engine light comes on...the car has 91,000 miles on it...any suggestions as to what the problem is? Thanks a ton.

Kyle

ORIGINAL: ihatebush420... is quite a jump! SWEET ...
Quite a jump in costs... but sweet, Yes. Btw, hate eats own guts, let it go - most of u ppl wanted him instead of the purple swiftliar...

The problem code should be in ECU, read its mem. Go to shop or lease codereader from autozone.

My guess is bad MAF and/or coilpacks, fuel pump/filter.

No need for forced love ...still, 2/3 of u nation saw him better, just accept u fellas democratic decision... I could hate the liar or weather, but that would eat my guts. Fartsy. Not worth it... (See how hatred did ate those saudi billionaire boys iq; only goal left for em is 'infidel' 911destruction.)

As said, I've heard that Autozone leases that tool for 30 days. Cheaper than buying (150$).

Of course with that price you can get one MAF (?) from junkyard...

Then, if its intermittent fuel pump/pressure problem, neither helps. If I was suspecting fuel pump pwr supply, I'd add an parallel +12V wire to the fuel pump connector just for troubleshooting. Then switch it on when problem starts.

As for coilpacks, try how it feels when u take one-2-3 pack wires off. Is the problem feelin similar? If it is, you may have heat related multi coilpack problem.
