Default Nissan CVT maintenance tips

1) Don’t throttle the crap out of your car and don’t redline. Could ruin engine or strain transmission.
2) If applicable/possible, change but do not completely flush transmission fluid every 30,000 miles and do not forget to change CVT filter. Clogged filters can cause anything to overheat in life (pools, engines and even transmissions), sad but true but Nissan does not mention this as a secret to keeping longevity, planned obsolescence may have to do with it).
3) Religious maintenance goes a long way.
4) Do not do burnouts too often as this could strain any CVT or conventional automatic. Manuals are safer for this.
5) Do not shift between park reverse neutral and drive while car is in motion. This could wear even the rubber mounts on either the engine and transmission.
6) Enjoy your car!

FYI, I own a Nissan Sentra 2007 with 135,000 miles. Any car will die if not maintained properly. Sad but true I’ve seen Honda accords with replaced engines and transmissions due to negligence. Take care of your vehicles and enjoy every second.

You should also inspect and lubricate the "Johnson Bar" every 6 months as it impacts performane at higher speeds.

I own a quick lube. I do a drain and fill on my wifes 2014 Maxima every other oil change. It's got 256k on it now and still runs strong.
