Default Rebuilding the tranny

How hard is it to rebuild a manual transmission for a '95 Maxima? I've rebuilt the head of a Mercedes before and I change my own brakes and hoses and stuff. Is this doable? Are there any special tools needed?

Thanks,

Brian

Default RE: Rebuilding the tranny

Honestly it really depends on your abilty. for a good wrench it would take around 8 hours. if this is your first time expect it to take much longer. a manual trans has a large amount of parts (gears, **** forks, sinc's) you would have to buy a manual and expect to have alot of time in it. it would help of you new a good wrench to talk you though it. you should also expect 4 hours just geting the trans out of the car and another 4 getting it back in.
