2005 SE 4x4 Weird Clunk from the rear
I have a 2005 SE 4x4 that makes the wierdest noise ....similar to another post on here.
After you start the truck and go about 10-20 feet I hear a weird clunk in the back of the truck. It almost sounds like the noise when you run over a storm drain cover... It seems to coincide with shifting from first to second. It does it once then goes away until the next time I start the truck and go 10-20 feet with it.
I would never notcie the noise with the radio on and the truck doesn't act funny when it does it.
Has anyone else noticed this ?

Hi, not sure if you have the UK model like mine, but all recent UK Navara pickups and Pathfinders with the same chassis are subject to a factory recall to have the prop shaft bolts checked. apparently some where not torqued up correctly at the factory .....
Update:
Hi all, I noticed when reading the owners manual (I know - if all else fails etc) and this seems to be covered by page 8-34. It says " The ESP (or VDC) computer has a built-in diagnostic feature that tests the system each time you start the engine and move back or forward. When the self-test occurs, you may hear a clunk noise and/or feel a pulsation through the brake pedal. This is normal and is not an indication of a malfunction".
Hope that helps.....
