Default bose stereo problems/fixes

I've read that the Bose stereos on Pathfinders have a common problem. I have an '02 equipped with the Bose 6 disc changer and it skips like crazy. Does anyone else have this problem and what was the fix? I've also read that the speakers have to be changed out if the unit is changed. Comments/solutions? Thanks

Default RE: bose stereo problems/fixes

I had the same problem with my 02, but it turned out it was just dirty, i got a lens cleaner and it fixed the problem, but i have heard of more serious problems were the lens was loose. right after i did that, i replcaed it with an alpine unit with the stock speakers and amp, it worked fine, i am waiting untill it gets warmer to put in an aftermaket amps, components, and sub. but its been in there for about 6 months and havent had a problem.
