Default Vacuum Leak at exhaust????

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have a 1985 Nissan Sentra Wagon with the 4cyl gas engine. I have done a complete tune up (fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires, oil, seafoam, cap and rotor) and a complete washing of the engine bay. Since then, the car won't idle worth beans. I tried the ol' carb cleaner and noticed when I sprayed the top of the exhaust manifold, the car ran smooth as a babys rear. When spraying other various parts (vacuum hoses, lots of them, carb and other places no changes). Does this make sense? I am a pretty decent DIY and thought this was strange. The car runs great after idle and gets great mileage (30+).

Thanks in advance for your help or any tips to solve the rough idle.

Aaron
