The transmission on my '96 Pathfinder hesitates when I shift from P to D. Then it makes a "clunk" sound. Am I losing my transmission? Any advice is appreciated.

 

when was the last time that you had the tranny serviced?

 

I bought the truck a couple of months ago. The previous owner gave me the service records and I don't see a receipt for any transmission service. The truck doesn't produce the symptoms every time but if I shift from park to drive quickly and then accelerate, it usually does it.

 

Have you checked the fluid level? What color is the fluid?

 

The fluid level is good and the color is clear. I'm going to take it in and have it looked at. Thanks for the replies.
