Default recurrent starting problem-95 maxima

Hi...I could really use some help with this one...my 1995 nissan maxima has been having recurrent starting problems, and no one can seem to figure it out, including my mechanic.... What the problem is: It's turning over, but it's just not catching, sometimes it will start if you pump the gas or hold the gas pedal down midway...What has been done so far: Spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, and mass air flow sensor have all been replaced. After the fuel pump was replaced, it was working well for about two months and then started having the same problem again. Computer diagnosis reads crank shaft and knock indicators, but that seems to be unrelated and probably just a sensor problem, which has also been consistently malfunctioning. Also, when it's not starting, it doesn't respond to jump starting, so it doesn't seem to be the battery or starter. Please write with any suggestions.
Thanks a lot,
Laura

Default RE: recurrent starting problem-95 maxima

if your crank position sensor is defective then the pcm does not know if the engine is cranking or not i would check your crank sensor and possibly replace it and also check your cap and rotor on your ignition you might have a bad rotor and cap on your distributor.
