Timing problem

Timing problem
1988 Pickup, I repalced the crankshaft. followed the Haynes manual faithfully. I can get it to start but only by advancing the distributor way way clockwise, about 20 to 25 degrees ahead of where I believe is should be. It idles rough, and tried to drive it but it just bogs down. I've replaced the timing chain and guides once several years ago and every thing went fine. I just cannot figure out what I've done wrong.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

RE: Timing problem
Suggest you double check the distributor and timing chain alignment. If both are OK, make sure all the electronics are plugged in. I'd unplug and reconnect them all. You know, you can never be too sure.
Hope that helps.
