hey guys i need help on how to time my friends 240 i just installed a new motor and it starts but idles rough and whenever i step on the gas it wont stay at say 2000 rpm without stuttering and backfiring. help me out please. sorry if i offend anyone with my name but thats how im feeling right now after all this work!

 

what year 240, what kind of engine swap? same across or differant engine? all sensors hooked up and in good shape?

 

i have a 89 i just bought i believe it is out of time slighlt also how do u fix it?
