both are good motors but the s14 black top has the variable cams in it and the s13 red top doesnt just go with the red top sr20 you will be plenty happy with that.

i have an rb26dett swap into my 98 s14 and itsalot faster then any sr20 240 that ive been in.

 

i just want to stay with the SR20's ima get it up around 450 rwhp thats all i need

 

ill be around 420-450rwhp once i get my car tuned for 16psi of boost.
but sr's are good motors alot of potential when done right.

 

I have seen 1 SR20 make over 1000HP and it was rwd, thats pretty impressive.

I also see alot of fwd SR20's running 11's and low 12's with boost and there is 1 N/A SR20VE running 11's (<--Miko)

They're a good bank for the buck.

 

i agree that sr20's are good motors but i wanted a more reliable high hp motor that could be daily driven. shoot anything can be done if you have the money to do it lol. good luck with your swap and post pics.
