nyoneLooking at buying, but have questions
Looking at buying a 1985 300-ZX 2+2 with approx 115,00 miles. It's has an automatic trans. Body in good shape. Seller says the one major problem is when she comes to a stop the car dies. Starts right back up and runs fine until the next stop and dies again. She is asking 600.00 for the car. She has had the fuel pump and filter replaced. My questions:
1. Does anyone know what might be the problem with it dying at stops?
2. What should I be looking for besides the obvious things you look at when buying a used car?
3. How reliable are the 300ZX's and is maintenace expensive?
Thannks for any help.....Dave...

RE: nyoneLooking at buying, but have questions
I would have the air/fuel ratio checked. When you are driving if the air/fuel ratio is not getting enough air or fuel you are actually supplying the air /fuel it needs to stay running but as soon as you stop the proper air/fuel the car needs is not being supplied this will cause the car (when stopped) to shut off. I would have the idle checked as well.
