I bought a 1992 Maxima a couple of month ago and it's been with my mechanic. The car's in great shape, needed some work and such, but we're having a problem with the engine idling. It'll run up to about 2k and drop to the point of stalling. At times it will stall, but it'll start right back up and do it all over again. They've checked the vacuum hoses and done quite a bit of work. The engines at +80%. If anyone has had similar problems or a possible solution, any info you could provide would be great.
I'm very anxious to get behind the wheel and get this on the road.

 

It is possible the Idle Control Air Valve is not functioning correctly, is located at throttle body,and is used for started-up to control rpm,til warm up accurrs, make sure your mechanic vertify's its working correctly
