I have a 2001 Sentra. Went out to start the car today and the ignition was locked.

1) I turned the steering wheel both left and right while simultaneously trying to turn the key in the ignition. Didnt work [:@]

2) I shook the sterring column while trying to simultaneously turn the key in ignition. Didn't work [:'(]

3) I checked to make sure the car was in park and it was.

Does anyone know anything I could do to get the ignition to unlock and allow me to turn the car on?

I thought about buying some compressed air and seeing if possibly spraying that into the ignition would work.

Please let me know if you have a suggestion or two.my next resort is to call a local nissan dealership!
