Reifilling Coolant, where is the vent cap or bolt?
I have just re-installed my 1.6 l engine back into the 200sx after doing a timing chain and water pump replacement and fixing multiply oil leaks and many of the coolant hoses. Now it is time to re-fill the coolant system. My repair manual says to fill the radiator with the heat selctor switched to hot, start the engine and wait for the thermostat to open sucking in the coolant and then top off the radiator and fill the overflow tank to the low mark. It also said something about a vent cap or bolt to tighen after fluid comes out of it. Does anyone know were to look for that? Can not tell if they mean o the radiator or the engine. I would rather not run the car with the block dry. If on the engine, does that vent cap or bolt allow air to escape so the cooolant will fill the block?
Thanks,
Pete

fill the raidiator up and start engine with the heater on hot and blowing and run the engine to operating temprature and leave the raidiator cap off and let it idle and keep on toping off the raidiator untill all air bubles are out of the cooling system and you will probably let it idle for about 30 minutes. do this and you will be just fine.
